I probably started collecting in high school when I became more aware of my own tastes. She took a chance and hired me as the director of vintage couture and accessories. That was more than three years ago.

Rutherford: Throughout history,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], people have always had some kind of bag or purse. I think men mostly wore them at first as a sort of carryall. It wasn’t until women began to gain independence and equal rights that high-end [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] came along. By the 1920s,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], women were freer to do more things. I think the rise of the purse basically paralleled the history of women’s rights.
