Haiti:the Magic Land
HAITI: THE MAGIC LAND
By Alejandro Guevara Onofre
INTRODUCTION
In 1492 Christopher Columbus wrote about Haiti: "The most beautiful in the world". Certainly, Haiti is a wonderful country in the Caribbean. I think that has a special beauty, with a geography and traditional culture that is altogether different from all the other countries in Latin America.
Now, this composition is a historical information about Haiti, the first black republic in the modern history and one of the poorest nations on Earth. Each part provides details on history, economy, biographies, sport, rewards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], diplomatic relations, culture and other important aspects of Haiti. The people that don’t know Haiti very much think that Haiti is only one of the world’s poorest countries, but the Island is known for its traditional culture, hospitality, superstitions, history. Furthermore, Haiti is the home to National Park History, one of the antique wonders of the world, and well-known women such as Edwidge Danticat and Micha?lle Jean were born there.
Since then, the dictatorships have broke Haitian society, economic, nature and sport. Since 1950, two million Haitian people emigrated to the United States and additional countries. Haitian-American arrived from Haiti with naught more than their raiment. If we liken the Haiti of today apt Haiti of thirty years antecedent, we penetrate a change: a new multiparty democracy. Today, a extensive portion of the Third World and more than a billion people are under dictatorships.
Eventually, I would like to finish my introduction with a message by Albert Mangones: "Haiti is distinctive in history, going instantly from servitude to nationhood".
