The case in this episode involved a letter writer who was killed by a cop. He was killed as she was wooed away from her lover by another man who had hired him to write love letters to her.
Booth and Brennan Soulmates?
The episode started with Sweets sitting on the train talking to man who had just won a life long battle with Leukemia. Unfortunately an earthquake broke a water main and flooded the train station and derailed the train. In a strange twist the man who had just beaten cancer died there and then leaving Sweets in a terrible state.
However instead he walks into the lab and gets on his knee with his mother's ring and proposes to her. he's decided he doesn't want to live his life without her.
The end sequence had Brennan describe the theory from The Symposium by Plato. The theory is that people were originally born with four arms and four legs and torn apart only to spend their lives searching for their other half.
Essentially she had left a good man for a bad one and she was ticked off.
This was an obvious ploy to tell the audience yet again that Booth and Brennan are soulmates.
The sexy secrets on page 187 are likely to remain on page 187. All the audience knows about page 187 is that it's a trick Hodgkins likes to perform.
A Japanese writer is in the States to observe Brennan and see how much her co-workers are like in comparison to the characters in Brennan's books.
The Dead Letter Writer
Brennan seems to be under the impression her books sell like hotcakes because of the science behind them and the writer helps her understand it's the characters that make the story loved by so many. The characters however are developed by Angela and Brennan recognizing this hands Angela a big fat check for her share of the royalties.
