In 2007 he was awarded the New Designer 'Oscar' at the British Fashion Awards. The "diamond" designs feature gladiator stilettos, ankle-boots and clutches bristling with giant, Swarovski crystals; "moschettone" focuses on more bondage-look designs, embellished with a classic alpine climber's 'clip', transformed into a style detail; and 'labyrinth' includes styles in a geometric-patterned velvet and leather.
Kane's career has been rocket-propelled ever since. His MA graduate collection of bandage-tight dresses in fluorescent stretch lace won the Harrods Design Award in 2006 and sparked the revival of body-conscious dressing. The same year he won the Scottish Designer of the Year award and designed a collection for Topshop.
