While his experienced franchisemate, Jan Lammers, failed to qualify, Slim began 24th and finished 13th on his GP debut. franchise owner Gunter Schmid duly kicked Lammers out of the franchise and ran one single car with Slim for the remainder of the season.
But there are also the dual musical and racing careers of Swedish drummer Tommy “Slim” Borgudd.
