East London's Shoreditch is set to become a mini Bond Street,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with a raft of upmarket brands eyeing the area. Parisian high-end footwear retailer Christian Louboutin - whose shoes sell for more than ￡350 a pair - is in talks to open a store on Redchurch Street.
Trendy boutique Start is a retailer on Rivington Street and, last month, Hermès opened a pop-up store to promote its scarves and tap into the fashionable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and now rich,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Shoreditch shoppers.
But rents in the area are still no more than ￡35,000 a year for a 700 sq ft shop, compared with ￡1m a year in the West End of London.
