Barnes will be wearing No. 40, just as he did as a Little Cyclone. Ames won 53 straight games with Barnes and North Carolina is counting on some of that winning pedigree to help make a difference for a Tar Heel squad coming off an uncharacteristic 17-loss season in 2009-10.

Barnes, regarded as the nation's No. 1 recruit, scored 13 points to lead his team during Friday's UNC intrasquad scrimmage.
